STAY-CATION
I could not tell you the last time me and all my friends spent a full weekend in Auburn. I guess we get so caught up in thinking we need to go somewhere else to have fun that we overlook what is right under our nose. And now that the majority of us are all 21 and can go downtown on the weekends, we thought this weekend would be a good time to have a stay-cation! So Friday night we went to our usual dinner spot--Durango's mexican restaurant! And then we headed over to a friend's house before going downtown. (Pictures of us out-and-about are to come, they are on another friend's camera)
Then a miracle happened Saturday morning. Something that hasn't happened since freshman year... I woke up at 11:00 a.m. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? It was heaven. Since waking up at 11:00 gives you the "in-limbo" decision to have lunch or breakfast, I went with a small something to tide me over until a few of us went out for lunch. Emily's is conveniently located right above Firehouse Subs, so we grabbed Firehouse to-go and ate it on Emily's porch overlooking Magnolia Ave. Being the pretty day it was, Caroline and I decided to make the best of a dreaded situation (studying) and opted to take our books to Town Creek! Here are some pictures:
Beautiful day at Town Creek Park! By the way, I think creating Town Creek Park was the best decision the Auburn-Opelika City has ever made.
Caroline being the good student she is. She wasn't Mountain Brook Highschool's Social Studies Student of the Year for nothing!
Me attempting to understand Marketing. Maybe if the teacher stopped talking about his Subaru Outback and his wife's locked kitchen pantries, we'd learn something from going to class, but no.... he has to ramble on about pointless topics and leave us to read the book cover-to-cover in order to teach ourselves. Oh school... Why???
Hope ya'll all had a splendid weekend!
